100th day of Kindergarten
Readers Workshop
During our shared reading, we reviewed main idea while reading the Aesop fable, The Lion and The Mouse. We practiced retelling the story and talking about why helping people is the main idea of the story. We also read many 100th day of school books!
K.F.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words
K.S.3 Speak audibly and express thoughts, feelings, and ideas clearly
K.F.4 Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding
K.RL.3 With prompting and support, identify character, settings, and major events in story
Math Workshop
We finished our work on measurement this week and were engaged all week comparing and measuring various objects. We took our math test on Friday and they measured up! (sorry, writing this on a Sunday afternoon and after my third cup of coffee, it seems funny!) Next week we will be starting addition.
K.MD.1 Describe and compare measurable attributes such as length and width
K.MD.2 Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has "more of"/"less of" the attribute.

Base ten dice game (roll two dice, make the number, then draw the base ten form)
Ordering numbers dice (roll four # dice, write the numbers in order)

Writers Workshop
