Honor Band
Congratulations to Noah Erwin, Sydney Davis, Raqib Chowdhury, Jamie Hammon-Flemming, Kristin Lane and Mikaili Commissiong on an outstanding performance yesterday at the Indiana Band Masters All-Region Honor Band at Clark Pleasant Middle School. These six excellent musicians were selected to participate in this very elite group from over 200 musicians that applied. Excellent job on an outstanding performance!

Athletic Update
Greetings Flashes Fans,
FTMS West hosted the annual “Around the World” Tournament that includes FTMS East, Mooresville, and Columbus North. East fell to the Mooresville Pioneers in both 7/8 contests. Saturday tournament play included East vs. West and Columbus North vs. Mooresville. Please follow @FTMSATHLETICS for up to date results.
Thank you to all of our West parents of basketball and East/West parents of wrestling for keeping the Door 9 parking lot clear when picking up your student athlete from practice!
Congratulations to all of our new East and West winter cheerleaders that have made their respective squads. Flashes cheerleading leads our spirit and energy at all home boys and girls basketball games!
FTMS Wrestling will begin conditioning at the Annex (old MS) on Tuesday, November 7th from 4 – 5:15pm. The dates for conditioning will be November 7, 9, 14, 21, 28, 30 and December 5 and 7. There will not be shuttle service for these dates. Parent transportation is needed for drop off and pickup. All entering and egress will occur at the main entrance, Door 1. Official wrestling practice begins on Monday, December 11th. All wrestlers will need to attend study tables after school on this day and you will be shuttled over to the Annex and practice from 3:00 – 5:15pm. Pickup will always be at the main entrance, Door 1, with parking available in the yellow lot.
FTMS East Girls' Basketball 7/8 tryouts will begin on Monday, December 11th and conclude on Tuesday, December 12th from 3 – 5pm. East players will attend study tables and tryout from 3 – 5pm with parent pickup at Door 25. All interested players must attend study tables on this day and have athletic clothing and basketball shoes. An IHSAA athletic physical must be on file with the Athletic Department in order to be eligible to tryout.
FTMS Swimming tryouts will begin December 11th and conclude on December 12th at the FCHS Natatorium from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Parent transportation to and from is required as swim tryouts and practice will always occur after hours. All interested swimmers grades 6 – 8 must have an athletic physical on file with the Athletic Department in order to be eligible to tryout. Callout meeting TBD at both East and West. Student Council Rallies for RIley
The Franklin Central High School Student Council hosted their 3rd Annual RALLY for RILEY HOSPITAL on Thursday, November 9th! This year's theme was, "We Are UNITED for Riley: Red, White, & Blue...Just Look What We Can Do!" Over 200 Franklin Township Community Schools' elementary, middle school, and high school Student Council Representatives along with their sponsors were in attendance for this charity-leadership workshop! Principal Koers welcomed guests, and Mr. Tim Amick, owner of Southport Road Rally's Restaurant generously sponsored the event by providing delicious Rally burgers for all participants! Facilitators Holly Cassinelli, Emma Coney, Cole Eder, Emma Eller, Lily Habegger, Ellie Harris, Savannah Kellum, Nicole Klee, Lydia Laker, Alyssa Lamping, Abby McCormick, Michael Santoro, and Christina Veal revealed in the closing ceremony over $6,642 was raised for Riley Hospital for Children! Way to go, Student Council!
Canned Food Drive
Attention Parents!!!
From November 13-17, FTMS East will host our annual Canned Food Drive! Please encourage your student to bring in canned goods or other nonperishable food items. Students should drop their items off on the stage in the cafeteria. This is a grade level competition so there will be a designated area on the stage for each grade level. The grade level who brings in the most items will win a DJ during lunch the week of Thanksgiving. All canned goods will go to support the SPARC Center in Franklin Township!
