Roselawn Round Up
Weekly Newsletter for Roselawn Families February 6th, 2021
Greetings Roselawn Families;
This Friday Roselawn Round-Up is being sent out earlier to make sure we get some updates out to parents before next week.
Have a great weekend!
Respectfully,
Scott Kowalski and Tyler Nelson
Roselawn Principals
Reminder No School Monday February 8th
This is just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 8th. This is a planned day off for students and staff.
I hope everybody enjoys the three day weekend.
Valentine Day Socials
Next week many of our classrooms will be holding valentine's day socials. We feel it is important for our students to still celebrate these activities, however, in the COVID world we live in we need to make some minor adjustments. Please see below:
- Classroom celebrations should take place on Friday, Feb. 12th.
- Keep them short and sweet. (no pun intended)
- All treats brought in should be pre-packaged, which is similar to our current food policy.
- If you are going to exchange Valentine's cards, have students bring them by Wednesday, February 10. They will sit in the teacher's classroom until Friday.
- Have students use hand sanitizer before and after your classroom celebration.
If you any questions leading up to our valentine's day socials this upcoming week please reach out to classroom teachers.
Weather
The mild winter we were having has come to a screeching halt and will look to stay around for about a week. Just a reminder on a couple of weather-related items:
- If the real feel temp is below -5 we will have indoor recess. Keep in mind, that real feel includes windchill, so just looking ahead we very possibly could have indoor recess most of next week.
- Students will still be heading outside for busses and getting picked up by parents. Please make sure students have snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens. If families need some please let us know, we have received many donations over the years and have extras if needed.
Hopefully, our weather turns for the better after this cold stretch.
Looking for those interested in joining our recess and lunch room supervisors team
Roselawn Elementary is looking at adding to its substitute pool for recess and lunch supervisors. Recess and lunchroom supervisors are a vital part of our day at Roselawn Elementary. We are currently looking at adding to our substitute pool for the rest of the year and moving into next year. If you enjoy working with elementary students and have a background working with children this could be perfect for you.
- Supervisors can work anywhere from 2 hours per day to 5 hours per day supervising the lunchroom or playground.
- Candidates will go through a full background check and need to have a two week training period.
- If you are interested in becoming part of our team or have further questions, please email Scott Kowalski at skowalski@cwasd.k12.wi.us
