Reeceville Elementary School
Monday Morning Message: January 25, 2021
A Successful First Week of Hybrid!
It has been a wonderful first week of hybrid instruction. The energy of having all the students back in the building has been remarkable. it has been so nice to have a third of our students sitting in their classrooms again. We look forward to welcoming Cohort C back today and tomorrow, January 25th and 26th. Please remember that all students should have masks when arriving to school and should bring their fully charged Chromebooks each day.
Don't forget that Wednesday, January 27th is an asynchronous learning day for students.

Check out the video below or our school's website for more information. Looking forward to seeing more creative projects!!
The Raptor Report
Please send these to celotton@casdschools.org with the title Raptor Report. We look forward to seeing students' learning spaces, class and outside activities, class projects, etc.
Fifth Graders Experience Mystery Science
This past week, fifth graders studied some "Mystery Science." Students were posed with the questions about lava, salt, and flamingos. On Wednesday, they were asked: Can you make lava? Why do you think that? Students found out that hot lava is a liquid that flows and cold lava is solid rock.
Pictured are some student experiments that answered the question: What other things that when warm, are a liquid and when cooled are solid?

Clothing/School Attire
As a reminder, we are no longer requiring school uniforms. We are asking that students dress appropriately for the weather as we may be going outside each day for recess and mask breaks. It is also necessary for each child to come to school with a mask.
My Indoor Recess Baggie
If it is raining the children will have indoor recess. Indoor recess takes place in our classrooms and the children will play at their desks. Since communal toys/games/puzzles/activities will not be used, students are free to bring some from home. Students will also have the choice to use their own crayon/markers/colored pencils to complete coloring pages or draw (provided by us).
Please refrain from sending in anything of value or electronic devices. Good choices may be miniature cars, figurines, small toys, favorite books, or small puzzles. Whatever you choose, it must fit in a gallon size Ziploc bag. Please send anything in in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it. If you do not have a baggie, we will provide your child with one. Feel free to periodically send in items that may be swapped out as the year progresses. These items will be for your child’s use only.
