Nurse Schmaltz's News
As we are entering Cold, Flu and COVID season we are seeing an increase of sick students here in the Health Room.
As a friendly reminder…Please do NOT send your child to school if he/she has or has had:
· Fever more than 100 degrees within the last 24 hours (must be fever free without medication)
· Vomiting or Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
· Chills
· General malaise or feelings of fatigue, weakness or muscle aches
· Frequent congested ( wet) or croupy cough
To help prevent the spread of illnesses, re-enforce your child’s good hygiene habits:
· Wash hands frequently
· Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth
· Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
· Avoid close contact with others who are sick
Students need to be Healthy and feeling well in order to learn at their full potential.
New Tardy Policy
Please do your best to get your student to school on time. It is vital to the student's learning to start school on time so they are prepared and ready to learn.

Hispanic Heritage Month
This week we will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Sugar Creek! Each year from September 15th-October 15th, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated around the world, and this week in particular we will be celebrating in a few different ways with our students. Our 5th grade Student Ambassadors put together a short video with fun facts and information on what Hispanic Heritage Month is. 26% of our school population is Hispanic and we love celebrating where our Shark family is from! Other small events this week will include Hispanic Heritage Month read alouds, short videos, and coloring! On Friday, we will be encouraging all Hispanic students to dress in their favorite cultural clothes that represent the countries that they and their families are from! All other students will be encouraged to pick colors from a Hispanic Heritage Month flag to dress in to help celebrate! We love sharing in our diversity at Sugar Creek and can’t wait to see who all we celebrate this week!
