UPCOMING NEWS & INFORMATION
I know it’s hard to believe but time doesn’t wait for any of us and the reality that this is our last week of school is really hard to believe! I know for my own kids this weekend there was a lot of buzz about what this week would bring for them!
With that in mind, we reach out with some updates and reminders for this last week of school together and reflect on some things that have occurred over the last few weeks as well.
First, with mother nature not cooperating with anyone this month we were faced with some rain delays during our FIELD DAY last month. Despite the challenge of dealing with these unexpected events the students and staff succeeded in having a great day that brought together our entire school in a positive manner displaying both sportsmanship and competitiveness.
We continued with weather woes when we were faced with postponing our dodgeball tournament for our 7th & 8th-grade students. We, of course, were pleased to makeup this event last Wednesday, June 5th from 3:00-5:00 PM. The event brought together our school community in a fun way for a great cause that our student council decided upon for this school year.
Our 8th-grade Finale was a great success once again on Friday night, June 7th. Our PTO and parent volunteers once again helped to coordinate this final event for our 8th-grade students! The annual success of this event could not be possible without parent volunteers and food donations. It was a fun-filled night which included a DJ, Photo Booth, Caricaturist, Kona Ice Truck, Food, games, and refreshments for all who attended. The weather finally cooperated for one of our events and the kids had a blast!
As we move into this final week of school together please be mindful of our schedule this week.
Monday & Tuesday: Regular Dismissal at 2:55 PM
Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: Dismissal at 10:45 AM
Locker clean outs began on Friday for our 7th & 8th grade A teams and will continue this week with B teams and 6th grade. Official locker clean out days will conclude on Tuesday, June 11. Be on the lookout for "STUFF" coming home that you may have not seen since October!
Yearbooks arrived and are in the process of being distributed. We will have some extras on sale through the school store until we sell out.
We will reach out on the last day with some final thoughts for the year!
Here's to looking forward to a positive final week of the 2018-19 school year!

Power Up Your Chromebook!
Directions to charge your chromebook:
You will need to shut down your Chromebook. Do not charge the Chromebook in sleep
mode, it will not hold the charge. Make sure you plug in both parts of your charger until it
clicks into place, check for the Red light when Charging and a Green light to indicate a Full
Charge. Charge your Chromebook overnight, so the battery will last the entire school day.

CELL PHONE REMINDER
We follow a simple saying and rule at William Penn regarding cell phones.
"Off and Away During the Day"
We recognize that many parents desire that their child have a phone for various reasons but we do not want to interrupt or distract the learning environment at school. Please do not call or text your child during the school day. If there is a need for your child to call home they are required to report to the office and use our student designated office phone. There has been a recent increase in situations where students and parents have texted each other during the school day. This has led to interruptions to the learning environment and confusion in our main office regarding arrangements being made between students and parents. We thank you in advance for your support regarding this matter.
