Updates and Opportunities

This week is show week for William Penn as we put together the final touches for our spring musical Mary Poppins Jr! Tonight is OPENING NIGHT for our show at 7:00! Tickets cost $10 and will still be available at the door and will be on sale starting 1 hour before each show time at all shows this weekend! We are presenting 3 shows this weekend (Friday 7:00, Saturday 2:00 & 7:00).

It goes without saying how important our musical is for our school each year. It is the one event that brings together so many different students from across our entire school for one common goal and experience.

It’s been awesome to see the friendships that have developed between students across all grade levels. Their appreciation and respect for one another’s hard work, effort, and dedication has developed during their journey together over the past 3 months.

In addition, our musical this year and every year could not be possible without the same dedication and passion by our parent volunteers behind the scenes! From costume making, to set building, and to cast party planning our parent team that has supported this year’s play has been amazing.

I’d like to personally thank Mrs. O’Brien, our drama director, as well as our staff that has supported our students and the show along the way! Mrs. Willbanks, Ms. Palladino, Miss Maratea, Miss Wendell, Mr. Gormley, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Kilmer, & Mrs. Kalb. Finally, our custodial staff and front office staff whom without their leadership and help this event could not be possible. As we approach our opening night tonight I’m reminded of a quote in my office…”The journey is the reward!” Hopefully, we will see you at one of our shows this weekend!

Sincerely,

Chris Becker

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CHROMEBOOKS: As a reminder all Chromebooks need to be covered at all times. This includes the silicone edging on the newer covers. If covers and silicone edging are not on the Chromebooks, the protection plan is not enforced This means any damage done to the Chromebook will be paid by the student and not the protection plan. If new covers are required, the cost is $25.00.

CELL PHONE REMINDER- We follow a simple saying and rule at William Penn regarding cell phones "Off and Away During the Day." We recognize that many parents desire that their child have a phone for various reasons but we do not want to interrupt or distract the learning environment at school. Please do not call or text your child during the school day. If there is a need for your child to call home they are required to report to the office and use our student designated office phone. There has been a recent increase in situations where students and parents have texted each other during the school day. This has led to interruptions to the learning environment and confusion in our main office regarding arrangements being made between students and parents. We thank you in advance for your support regarding this matter.

----------------------------------------

If you didn’t receive this from the PTO directly, but got it forwarded from a friend...please sign up directly so that we can include you on future blasts. The PTO does not get any contact information from the school, so if you have to sign up with us either online or by filling out a paper form.
