UPCOMING NEWS & INFORMATION
This month has provided the annual interruptions with days off from school but our school has persevered and continued to experience positive experiences. Our 8th graders have continued their early discussions in planning and preparing for their high school experiences as students have visited both Pennsbury High School and the Bucks County Technical High School. It’s hard to believe that our 8th graders are already looking ahead and I’m sure as parents/guardians you’ve been thinking the same thing recently.
Our annual Turkey Bowl with our 8th-grade students and our school-wide food drive to support our own community has been an awesome sight over the past 2 weeks! WP Continues to SOAR!
On behalf of the staff at William Penn Middle School, I want to extend a sincere thank you for your continued support for your children and our school. There is much to be GRATEFUL for during this time of the year and our school community is certainly one of them!
Looking ahead to December brings even more exciting and positive events for William Penn Middle School…
We will participate as a school in our annual Pajama day fundraiser for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on Friday, December 6th. More details to follow!
Our students’ vocal talents will be on full display at our Winter Choral Concert on Tuesday, December 10th.
Pennsbury High School will hold its Program of Studies Night for all current 8th-grade families on Thursday, December 12. This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to learn all about the curricular opportunities that exist at Pennsbury High School.
We will also be participating in our 4th annual support of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive. If you’re out and about on Dec 7th (Macy’s Upper-Level Outside Entrance) or Dec 14th (ShopRite of Yardley) you’ll be able to see our staff members and some students supporting this great cause! Hope to see you there!
We want to wish you nothing but a healthy and happy Thanksgiving break with family and friends.
As I always say, take time to appreciate the little things.
Until next time…

News and Information:
*Box Tops Fall Contest -
Please clip and send in traditional Box Tops with your child’s name clearly marked. Use a baggie, envelope, or a collection sheet – whatever is easiest for you! Just send them in!! There is a bin in the front lobby where students can drop off the box tops.
Eventually, going forward, instead of clipping and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt within 14 days of purchase. The new app will scan your receipt, find participating products, and instantly add Box Tops to our school’s earnings online. (Apple Link) (Android Link)
And while there are still traditional box tops that you can clip and collect for credit, you can scan your receipts for credit as well - earning 2x for our school. So please scan your receipts within 14 days of purchase and give credit to your child.
More information on the fall contest here.
25 Book Challenge - The 25 Book Challenge is on! Each student who reads 12 books by the halfway mark of the school year (January 27) gets their name in the showcase and a small prize. Students are asked to show their language arts or English teacher their reading log in order to be recognized. If they read 25 books by the end of the year, they will be recognized once again and another small prize.

Power Up Your Chromebook!
Directions to charge your chromebook:
You will need to shut down your Chromebook. Do not charge the Chromebook in sleep
mode, it will not hold the charge. Make sure you plug in both parts of your charger until it
clicks into place, check for the Red light when Charging and a Green light to indicate a Full
Charge. Charge your Chromebook overnight, so the battery will last the entire school day.
Any questions, please stop in the library for additional help. Ms. Pecuch
CELL PHONE REMINDER
We follow a simple saying and rule at William Penn regarding cell phones.
"Off and Away During the Day"
We recognize that many parents desire that their child have a phone for various reasons but we do not want to interrupt or distract the learning environment at school. Please do not call or text your child during the school day. If there is a need for your child to call home they are required to report to the office and use our student designated office phone. There has been a recent increase in situations where students and parents have texted each other during the school day. This has led to interruptions to the learning environment and confusion in our main office regarding arrangements being made between students and parents. We thank you in advance for your support regarding this matter.
