Rudder Counselor Connection
November 2021
We have so much to be thankful for!
I am grateful for the family and friends in my life, who love and support me in more ways than I can count. ~Mrs. DuVal
...family & all the blessings that brings. ~Mr. Geraci
Today I am grateful for time. Almost every day I feel like there's never enough of it, but it allows me to spend time with my students, my family, and my friends and I definitely don't take it for granted. :) ~Mrs. Vasquez

CLASSROOM GUIDANCE UPDATES
6th Grade:
7th Grade:
In 7th grade guidance students have been learning about Intrapersonal Effectiveness skills with relation to their own awareness of the dangers and impact of drugs. Students have engaged in conversations about the importance of developing a positive self-concept in order to help them avoid drugs and cope with changing behaviors among peers. Through this, students will understand that escaping through drugs is not helpful - it's hurtful! They will be able to make positive decisions and be responsible if they ever find themselves in a difficult situation involving drug use.
In late November/early December students will explore high school choices. Students will learn about the importance of Individual planning in order to accomplish long term goals. Students will then be able to make the connection between their decisions and long term goals and how those goals are a reflection of their personal interests and natural abilities.
