Variety of Art

Medieval Art
Medieval art was created to teach religion to people who could not read or write. Sculptures were likely to be stiff with little movement. Faces were serious and showed little expression while bright colors made it vibrant, backgrounds often blue or gold.
Renaissance Art
Renaissance Art was meant to show not only the importance of religion but, people and nature to. New techniques were included such as showing figures more life-like and three-dimensional, showing more knowledge on the anatomy. Scenes showed people doing everyday tasks with more expression and even more colors.
Classical Art
Classical Art was meant to show the importance of normal people and civic leader, as well as gods and goddesses. Figures were more perfect then in real life. Scenes showed heroic people or ordinary people doing everyday tasks with most emotionless faces. There was little background or sense of perspective. Objects look closer or farther away to make more realistic depth to a scene.
