Restorative Practices (Reminders)
Community Services Underway!
Weekly Updates/ Reminders:
- Please ensure that you are putting in for a sub as soon as you are aware of your absence. Kelly Service is experiencing a sub shortage and it has become increasingly difficult for us to find subs.
- Don't forget to bring your canned goods this week to help earn points for Wheatley in Intramural's this Saturday.
- Ensure that you are entering at least one grade per subject area per week.
- Students should not be in the hallways at any time without an escort.
- Bulletin boards should be updated.
- Please remember ALL instructional non-negotiables must be adhered to, failure to adhere will result in disciplinary action.
- Attendance must be taken by 9:30 am and then rechecked for any mistakes in the afternoon, failure to meet this deadline will result in a written warning.
- Lesson Plans are due EVERY Friday Evening @ 7pm.
- Please make sure that we are using the walkie-talkies for Level III offenses, nurse, or buddy room escorts. For minor infractions in the classroom setting (use your restorative practices, safe seat, buddy rooms) before calling for administration or sending students to the office. (No student will be sent to the office unless brought by an administrator).

Season of Giving Competitions
- Food Drive
- Pick up boxes at your Principal PLC on Thursday, November 7, 2019
- Food collection dates: Nov.4 – Nov.20
- 1 point for every 5 cans of food donated
- Education Foundation Donations
- There is not a limit to the number of donors a school can enter into the challenge. Registration for this event is not required.
- Please note the school you're donating towards in the note of the donation.
- Online giving opportunity is open until November 21.
- Donations to the KCPS Educational Foundation outside of this window will not count toward points for your school
- Scoring - 5 points per $25 donation

Protocol for Ordering Items:
All orders must go through Ms. Enders first. If you have an order of any kind that you would like to place please email the complete list to Ms. Enders for approval. Once the order is approved Ms. Enders will email it to Ms. Doyle for the order to be placed.

Important Instructional Levers and Look For:
WEEKLY Instructional LOOK-FORS:
- I Can Statements and objectives up daily in classrooms.
- Connective Purpose Statements (What are we learning, because......, What I'm looking for).
- Instruction must be bell to bell.
- Writing across all content areas-- ensure that you plan for writing throughout your day.
- Update your Master trackers for ELA and MATH on a daily basis.
- Checking for Understanding- Continuously check for student understanding in order to modify and inform next steps
Shout-Outs
- Miss. Egli- for helping out in Kindergarten RTI.(Silva)
- Shout out to everyone who had extra kiddos in their rooms! It was a tough day but we persevered.
- 1st Grade and Mr. Tito- for helping make Friday's field trip to the Nelson successful and fun! I'm so proud of our kiddos. (Mrs. Amos)
- Congratulations to Ms. Schutte- for being nominated and winning $500 from Arvest Bank in their "We Heart Teachers" Campaign
- Mr. Vance- for sharing his expertise and helping our 1st grade students with some tricky word problems. (Mrs. Berry)
- Ms. Amos- for putting together an awesome field trip at the art museum. (Mrs. Berry)
- Mr. Peters- for letting our first grade friend crash his lunch time, every day! (Mrs. Berry)
- Mr. Vance- for being a huge instructional guidance to our classroom teachers, thank you for modeling a SOLID math lesson for 1st grade! (Mrs. Lugrand)
