Principal Feedback Survey

Greetings Staff,

All staff members received a survey that I typically send to the teachers/staff that I evaluate the current year.

I would like to extend this survey to the rest of the school staff; your feedback will not only provide me with data on the areas that I may be doing well but most importantly, it will provide data on the areas that I need to work on to ensure that I build a trusting safe & collaborative school environment.

Your input is critical to ensure any areas of growth on my end are taken into consideration.

This is the 8th year that I've done this with my staff & although some of the data is at time difficult to come to terms with, I am extremely grateful & humble for the opportunity to grow, improve, & learn from my mistakes.

This is a trying job & I recognize that my decisions at times do not go well with some & that I make mistakes. I do not expect for every decision to a popular one, but know that every decision I make is with our vision, children, & community in mind and through a collective process.

I invite you to be an active participant & voice the areas that you feel worked, did not work, or any areas that you would like to voice. The survey is completely anonymous, so fear not of any retaliation.

I look forward to the data!

2015-2016 Classroom Lists due June 10th!

Dear Colleagues,

It's that time of year when we need your teacher expertise to create equitable classroom rosters for the up-coming school year.

The following are the documents that you will need to begin this important work. Please click on the highlighted links to take you to the shared Google Drive folder where you will find the necessary documents.

1. A Guide for Creating Equitable Classroom Groupings

2. Class List 2015-2016-Revised

Please use your paid collaboration time to begin this work; the final rosters are due to Nancy on Friday, June 10th.

Dear Colleagues,

Very few of you gave feedback on the 2015-2016 master schedule & I did hear a lot of noise regarding the discontent of some of our colleagues about the reduction of 5 minutes of lunch time.

Although this is may be an unpopular decision, we must maximize instructional time especially for our 4th & 5th grade students. By reducing these 5 minutes from daily lunch recess, our 4th & 5th grade students have gained 450 instructional minutes.

I encourage you to use the survey to provide feedback instead of complaining in clicks. If we have an opinion, we surely have recommendations...

SOME POSITIVES ABOUT THIS NEW SCHEDULE:

1. TK/K gets two weeks of minimum weeks in August

2. ALL teachers get a week of minimum days in August

3. ALL teachers get 3 weeks of minimum days for SLCs (1 for each report card period)

4. ALL teachers gets 2 additional minimum days (for report card prep - December 4th & June 3rd)

Science Focus School Survey

OUSD's Elementary Science Team (and Duffy) would appreciate honest feedback about your experience as a Science Focus School this year. This brief survey should take about 5 minutes. Thank you in advance for helping our team improve how we serve schools, teachers and ultimately students.

EOY Deliverables for Committees

Dear Colleagues,

As per the Principal's Thursday meeting with our Network Superintendent, we were informed & highly encourage to pick our own ILT & not be a committee. Therefore, I endorse that recommendation & will be reaching out to staff members that I choose to be in it. As a result, this will be a monthly stipend commitment of two hours.

This conversation came about due to the district's expectations to submit our committees & committee description as a deliverable by June 19th. Please click on the link to begin signing up. A copy of these committees will also be available in the staff lounge.

Furthermore, because we were awarded the Blended Learning grant from the Roger's Foundation, we also need a Technology Committee to develop a tech plan & a blended learning plan/vision so I have added it as a committee.

The following is needed as EOY deliverable for committees:
