From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Happy Holidays! 2018 has ended splendidly and it’s a great time to thank you for all of the support you continuously give to our school. I am reminded so often of how lucky I am to lead this spectacular school. We have something very special here in Milton and I am always so thankful when families choose our school. I was reminded of this recently while doing a school tour. I joke and tell people I feel like a car salesman when I give personal tours to families considering CCES, but honestly, it is one of the greatest parts of my job. Just recently, I gave a tour to a family and when they told me the other Fulton and Cobb Schools they were visiting , I felt a bit nervous. I am pleased to say, however, they selected to reside in our community. That is what it is all about, the feeling you get when you enter a school. We have worked hard and will continue to focus on school culture and community. You have that commitment from me as your leader.
I hope everyone enjoys this holiday season to the fullest. Many of you have big travel plans which I have already heard about. This is such an exciting time of year. I hope that you truly take time to unplug from work and fully engage with family. This is something I am continuously working on myself. You see, this job of being principal never stops. The emails and phone calls come on holidays, weekends, and evenings. Recently, I was reminded that our own families are what matter most. We have had some very personal and close losses occur at CCES over the last month and these times lead me to reflect on how precious our time is with one another and the importance of being fully engaged!
On a lighter note, I want to let you know I will be taking vacation days on Monday and Tuesday when students return in January. Although not ideal timing, my family decided to purchase tickets to the National Championship football game in California and we will be going regardless of a Clemson victory in the Cotton Bowl. The airline prices were skyrocketing quickly, so we had to make a decision in November. We will proceed to California as planned, either to a game or on a family vacation! Enjoy your time together and we look forward to seeing you in the new year. Cheers to a remarkable 2019!
CCES Students build Amazing Snowmen!
Did you hear we had a snowman competition at CCES? All classes were given materials to create a display with their students without restrictions. We were so impressed with the creativity displayed. If you missed seeing them when you visited for class parties, a few videos are on Twitter. We invited 4 outside judges in to select the winner and give non-biased opinions. What a tough job! Congratulations to Team Kagan/Trotz in 3rd grade. They are our overall winner and will receive a class party upon their return in January!
