Principal's Message

Greetings Carver Middle School Community!

We have a full week of academic and extracurricular activities to look forward to this week. Several of our fall sporting events have been re-scheduled because of the extreme temperatures that we experienced during the middle of last week. Please remember to weak blue tomorrow for Would Bullying prevention day.

Our students received their packets for picture day this past Friday. As a reminder, picture day is scheduled for Monday, October 14. Hopefully students are continuing to sell goodies for our fundraiser. Money for the fundraiser is due Friday, October 11. We appreciate your support with this venture as the funds will provide tremendous support for Carver Middle School programs. Fundraiser items are scheduled to be delivered the week before our Thanksgiving Holiday.

Please join us Thursday, October 10 at 6pm to discuss MAP testing, discuss goal setting and analyze data with our Coordinator of Assessment and Remediation.

As a reminder, Friday, October 11, 2019 is a three (3) hour early release day.

Thank you very much for your support and have a great week!

Message from Nurse Natalie

Hello Carver Family-

As I am writing this note to you, it still feels like summer outside, but we are half way through September and as the seasons change students who suffer from allergies and/or asthma may require emergency medication at school. Please if you have not done so already, provide the clinic with an up to date health service plan and emergency medication if needed. Copies of health plans can be found on the CCPS website via the family> health and safety > forms link:

http://mychesterfieldschools.com/family-and-community-engagement/preparing-for-school/student-health-and-safety/

Each school year an updated health plan is needed. If your student lives with seizures, diabetes, or any other health concern that may required treatment at school, please make sure to provide that information to the school clinic also.

THANK YOU PARENTS, I am happy to report that Carver Middle is 100% compliant with our Tdap requirement for 7th graders!

As I continue to review all immunizations for all students in all grade levels you may be receiving a letter from me in the mail. Some students may be missing a final dose of of ANOTHER required vaccine such at a final polio or Hepatitis B vaccine. Immunizations are an important and required part of school. So if you receive a letter from me please take it to your child's primary care doctor or the local health department for follow up. If their is a reason your child can or should not received a certain vaccine please call me to discuss. I strongly encourage all families to speak with your health care providers about getting the yearly Flu vaccine, as flu season has begun.

Finally, please remember to encourage HAND WASHING with your students! Hand washing is the best way to reduce the spread of germs and illness.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call me! Se Habla Espanol tambien!

Thank you and Be Well-

Nurse Natalie

CARVER MS WATCH D.O.G.S.

Carver Middle School is looking to launch our own WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) organization. This organization will be comprised of dads, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers, and any other male role models in the lives of our students. We want our WATCH D.O.G.S. to volunteer their time in our school to better enhance the learning experience for all of our students, teachers, and staff. We will take any time you have to be in our building and be an additional presence of support for our school. If you are interested, please reach out to Mr. Nathanial Wiedenhoft at nathanial_wiedenhoft@ccpsnet.net or at 804-524-3620 extension 144.
