COVID Vaccine Now Available for Children Ages 5 - 11 at MetroHealth
Vaccinating children against COVID-19 helps protect them and their families from severe illness and reduces the spread of this dangerous virus, and MetroHealth is proud to now offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to its patients ages 5-11.
After School Vaccination Clinics
MetroHealth will host two after-school vaccination clinics:
- November 11 and 18, 2021
- 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
- Pediatric clinic on Main Campus
- Appointments are required and can be made by calling 216-778-6100 or through MyChart.
Second doses will be scheduled for three weeks after the first.
Northfield Pop-Up Clinic
- November 18 and 19, 2021
- For patients 5+
- 5398 Northfield Road in Maple Heights
- Appointments are required and can be made by calling 216-778-6100 or through MyChart.
Pharmacy Locations
- Vaccines for pediatric patients will also be available at MetroHealth's Beachwood, Brecksville and Buckeye pharmacies by appointment starting November 9.
- Appointments can be scheduled through MyChart.
Space is limited, but more opportunities are expected in the coming weeks.
Please Note:
- You DO NOT have to be a MetroHealth patient to schedule an appointment.
- Pfizer is approved for anyone 5 years or older. Moderna is approved for anyone 18 years and older.
- Moderna vaccine is only offered at Broadway Pharmacy location.
- Both Pfizer and Moderna require two doses. You will be scheduled for your second dose when you receive your first.
- Minors who are 5 - 17 (Pfizer only)*:
- Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Must complete a registration/consent form and bring it to the appointment.
- Bring a photo ID to your appointment.
- Insurance is not required. If you do not have insurance, select No Insurance at the bottom of the list on the scheduling page.
- There is no out-of-pocket cost to anyone. The federal government provides the vaccine free of charge to everyone living in the United States. The cost of administering the vaccine will be billed to your insurance company, Medicare or Medicaid. If you are a Medicare patient, please bring your Red, White and Blue Medicare card, which Medicare requires.
Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school Wednesday, November 24-Friday, November 26th.
