IMX Invite Recap
Congratulations to all of our Stingrays that competed in the IMX Invite last weekend!
117 Stingrays swimmers from all groups descended on Mountain View Aquatic Center for a FAST + FUN weekend of swimming. Many swimmers competed in events outside of their comfort zone and did so with passion and pride, creating very proud coaches and teammates. Valuable lessons were learned that we will take with us as we continue to build into the season.
A huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers that helped make the meet run so smoothly. We take pride in hosting such well run events and none of it would be possible without you!
What is IMX?
IMX (IM Xtreme) is a USA Swimming program that encourages swimmers to swim all of the strokes and allows them to compare results against teammates, swimmers in their region and everyone across the country!
Each age group has 5 or 6 prescribed events that contribute to your total IMX score. When approaching this meet, our coaches look to help swimmers complete or improve their scores.
Want to check out your scores? Or what events you need to complete your IMX Score? Check out the USA Swimming Deck Pass App!
Next Up for the RAYS:
In December, we will move in a few different directions. Our older swimmers will target the Georgia Senior State Championships and Junior Nationals, while our younger swimmers will be taking on the Tidal Wave Invite.

Congratulations Zach Nepogoda!
Everyone at Stingrays is very proud of your hard work. We wish you the very best at Union College!
If you see Zach on deck, make sure to congratulate him.
"A TALE OF TIMES"
It's November.
It's not only a month of Thanksgiving, a HUGE shopping weekend, and colder weather, it's ALSO a month of heavy training and tired swimmers. Why is this important? It's important because we have a few meets this month as we prepare for our Championship meets and things don't always go the way we want (especially with our times!).
It's a fact that swimmers (especially older swimmers) break down during heavy swim training and dryland, with the goal of adapting and eventually recovering, allowing for better performances (and thus, faster times!). Our coaches are huge advocates of our successes being a result of the PROCESS, not necessarily the TIMES on the scoreboard.
Here are some suggestions as to how to deal with times in swimming, and ways to look at it through a different perspective:

Summertime LAPS Opportunity!
Would your Summer League/Neighborhood Pool like to host LAPS? We did it this summer at the Pines in Marietta and it was a great success!
