JUNIOR JACKET CHEER CAMP

Join us on Wednesday, October 26th, Thursday, October 27th, and Friday, October 28th after School from 3 PM - 5 PM for this year's Junior Jacket Cheer Clinic led by your Concord Varsity Cheerleaders!

Current CCS students will be collected from the Elementary/Middle School Building after school these days. The cost to participate is $25 for pre-registered participants and $30 for day of registration participants. The cost includes a t-shirt if ordered.

All participants will perform a cheer routine for family/friends at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 28th.

ARE YOU CONSIDERING GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY?

Are you a senior considering Grand Valley State University? GVSU will be holding their Grand Valley Laker Experience Days on Friday, October 7th, and Saturday, October 15th, 2022.

Representatives from academic departments and support services will be available to answer questions on these dates. If you are interested, scan the QR code on the poster titled Laker Experience Days outside Mrs. Otto's office to register. Remember to fill out the pre-excused form if you plan to go on the Friday date.

College Visit Announcement - Attention - any Junior or Senior interested in learning more about Grand Valley State University, there is an opportunity on October 19th at 8 am to meet with our local admissions representative right here at the high school. If you are interested in learning more about the opportunities at Grand Valley State University, please sign up to attend the visit in the high school office. Only those signed up by the end of the day on October 18th will be able to attend.

SENIOR GOOGLE CLASSROOM


Attention Seniors. In your graduating Google classroom, there are scholarships posted. Please check out the scholarships with upcoming deadlines. These are posted under the topics October Scholarship deadlines and November scholarship deadlines.

All of the scholarships currently listed are valued in thousands of dollars. One is even up to $200,000 and most scholarships are offering more than an award.

Do not wait until the night before the deadline as you may need recommendation letters and it is only appropriate to give someone a 2-week window to write you a recommendation letter.

9TH-12 ARE YOU INTERESTED IN COLOR GUARD DAY??


Lily Plum a Concord Alumni is hosting a Guard Day which is a mix of dance and flags put to fun upbeat music. Anyone is welcome! Please sign-up in the office by Monday, October 10th.

Guard Day will be held on Wednesday, October 12th from 4 pm-6 pm in the HS Band Room.

HIGH SCHOOL PICTURE RETAKES


Picture retake day for the high school will be Monday, October 10th. Please bring in your picture packet to return if you are getting retakes and if you were absent on picture day you will need to get your picture taken for your ID card.

Picture packets are in the office.

PRESCHOOL UPDATE

WE ARE 99.9% SURE WE WILL HAVE OUR FIRST GSRP CLASS ON OCTOBER 18TH!! We have one final inspection on October 10th and if all goes well we should start GSRP on Tuesday, October 18th.


Right now, we plan to open a GSRP preschool Monday-Thursday and Latch Key (after-school care) Monday-Friday (after-school care). We will have a tuition program on Fridays for our GSRP students beginning Friday, November 4th.


Families that have registered for GSRP should be hearing from either myself or JCISD staff next week. As we develop the program and learn more, we hope to add tuition preschool, and summer programming to serve more of our community. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE GSRP PROGRAM, SEE THE FLYER ABOVE AND BEGIN THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS!!!

STUDENT ATHLETIC PASSES

Student passes are for sale at the ticket table for $30. This pass is good for the entire school year...WHAT A DEAL!! Athletes DO NOT get in free for events other than their sport. Kids that want to help in the concession stand can earn a student pass. See Mrs. Gill or Mr. Lehman for details!

REPEATED UPDATES AND REMINDERS SECTION

9TH AND 10TH GRADE PARENTS....

Manufacturing Technology Beginners (MTB) is an introductory program for 9th and 10th-grade students to the practices of manufacturing technology education
and the careers available within the manufacturing community.

The program is designed for students who express a clear interest in the manufacturing pathway and will feature collaborative instructional efforts by the Shop Rat Foundation and Jackson Area Career Center, as well as industry speakers provided by the Jackson Area Manufacturing Association.

Students who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to make a seamless transition to the 11th and 12th-grade Manufacturing Technology
Program at the Career Center.
