Dear Parents,
This week in PK4 we talked about how to make and keep friends. Friendships provide children with more than just fun playmates. They can help children develop emotionally and morally. In interacting with friends, children learn many social skills, such as how to communicate, cooperate, and solve problems. They practice controlling their emotions and responding to the emotions of others. We read The Rainbow Fish and we discussed the importance of sharing and making friends.
During math, we worked with counting using play dough, bingo and number cards. We also used the song “Let’s count form 10 to 20” to practice counting. We started working on letter recognition and sounds during our circle time using flash cards.
Our peace day celebration was a success as we talked about what peace means and what we need to make peace. Students made a rainbow poster, and in their own words they described the word peace. Students enjoyed popcorn during snack time thanks to your generous donations.
Lastly, thank you all so much for coming to our Math Night. If you were not able to make it, do not worry! We will be having several other activities like this one throughout the year.
Have a great weekend!
