What was the change?
The change was in the catholic church.The pope had gotten excommunicated.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Martin luther
Lutherans were people that follow in the teaching of martin Luther. he created the 95 thesis. which was two central beliefs is the true salvation for humans. By their faith and not by their deeds.
Henry VIII
Henry was married to a Spanish princess, Katharine of aragon. She gave birth to a daughter and had given Henry's only daughter" Mary". he thought his wife was getting to old to have another child. he asked the pope to annul,or put an end to , the marriage so he could remarry. The pope refused, to remarry Henry had to get out of the catholic church.
John Calvin
Calvin wrote the book that taught the people are sinful by nature. he taught predestination the idea that god has already chosen who will be saved.The religion based on Calvin's teaching is called Calvinism.
How did the change impact society at the time ?
- the Protestant reformation divided Western Christianity. This action started to make people become monotheistic, dis believe in their faith of the pope and their kingdom.
How is that change evidenced in today modern society?
Reformation is raised now and then by protestants.It show people and how they changed and united church follows that, but other Catholic church just leave it alone and continue with their beliefs, but many people who follow that have very little faith in the pope.A martin Luther is show as a disgrace from them.
