A beautiful, sorowful poem: A Song in a Minor key

Dorothy Parker was a powerful, witty writer. Her Academy Award nominations for screen writing, her literary output in The New Yorker, and many more showed her strong talent. Though she vastly struggled with depression, she pored it into her work.

"But the days go by, and the lilacs die, And trembling birds seek cover."

A Song in a minor Key

A Song in a Minor key is a beautifully written poem. It describes the slow days that go by as an aging women waits to greet her lover. Showing that the one we may love doesn't always come and that the flowers, that are suppose to show cheer, die and we must move on. Yet sometimes we wait till we grow old and gray till the person we're waiting for never comes.
