It's a Jungle Out There
This Week
During speech, we worked on identification of big and small animals, and then used our words to describe if animals were big or small. We also sang along to Old McDonald, talked about animals that live on the farm, and then discussed where exactly on the farm they live (e.g., in the water, in the mud, etc.). During P.E., we did many animal-themed activities: What Time is it Mr. Fox?, animal action song, monkeys jumping on the bed (trampoline), leap frog, and a bear hunt!
With our friends from Room 4, we played in the pet shop dramatic play area! We took turns picking out puzzle pieces from a bucket of water beads, took turns adding blocks to a tower, and took turns while playing "Don't Wake the Hulk" board game. We also blew bubbles and used our words to request more. We introduced one of the Kimochis, "Lovey-Dove," a stuffed bird who has a baby bird under her wing. We talked about how Lovey sends friendly signals by saying hi or waving and how she acts and speaks in kind ways.
Everyone looked adorable (as always) for picture day! The kids did a good job managing the change in routine. They waited their turns patiently and tried their bests to sit on the chair and look at the camera :)
