Lead Learner Highlights

As we enter the final week of January and welcome February, there are lots of wonderful things happening at KP. The KP Winter Bowling league was off to a great start on Sunday. We bowl again, on February 12th. To celebrate Chinese New Year, there is a dinner opportunity (see below). We have 16+ people plunging this year on Sunday in support of Special Olympics. We hope that families can participate in the events happening this weekend as their schedule allows.

Report cards will be sent home at the end of next week. Please be sure to check in with your child. Many of you have/will be contacted in the next few weeks from your child's morning advisory for a mid-year check in. However, if you have kudos, questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to your child's advisory, team leader or teacher.

As we enter into the second half of the year, I want to thank you for your continued partnership. If you have opportunities to support our school through the PTO we are hoping that you will contact Roni Rodman ( as we really need parent/caregiver support in a few key areas. In addition, we will need to fullfill a few PTO positions (including that of president) due to families moving on up to the high school.

What do I do if my child lost something?

Check the lost-and-found. Most lost items end up in the lost-and-found bin in the small cafeteria. Electronics/jewelry/eyeglasses are brought to the office.

"Public Act 16-189

We believe that it is vital for all students in West Hartford Public Schools to be able to efficiently and effectively use digital tools that empower them in all phases of the learning process, including research, problem solving, content creation, communication, and collaboration. We also believe that we must be committed at all times to protecting students' privacy and providing them with a powerful and safe educational experience. To that end, the West Hartford Public Schools follow the legal requirements of Public Act 16-189 to promote the safety and security of all students and staff.

In compliance with Connecticut State Law, we update online programs used within the district that house student data. The programs may be used district-wide, in a very small number of classrooms, or with individual students. The list will be updated each time the district enters into a new contract where student data is housed.
