Mrs. Stevenson's Message
Dear South Creek Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing Spring Break with your families. It was fun to read about all the fun places ‘Flat Al’ visited over the last two weeks. Thank you to the families who participated and a big thanks to Mrs. Kellum for posting all the pictures on Facebook.
We had fun celebrating 3Q perfect attendance, A & A-B honor roll, and ticket drawing Monday for students that demonstrated their Gator GREATS at the Gator R’AL’ly. Our Gator Guild led us through the celebration. Our PTO kicked off the Gator Gallop with an informational Pep Session with our students. The event will be on Friday, April 14th. Please start looking for information that will be coming home with your child.
IREAD-3 results are scheduled to be reported ~ May 1st. ISTEP+ Part 2 testing is scheduled to begin April 17th. Grade level testing schedules will be sent home in the near future by your child’s teacher. Please try to avoid appointments during testing.
South Creek is a school of hope, guided by knowledge, inspired by love.
Toni Stevenson, Principal

Student Council News
Our South Creek Student Council has a few great things planned for the month of April! There will be a 1 day only Smencil sale on April 14th. We will be selling what Smencils are left from the last Smencil sale. The Smencils would be great for Easter baskets! Money for the Smencils will benefit our South Creek Scholarship program.
During the week of April 24th-27th (Monday through Thursday), Student Council is sponsoring an all school canned food drive for Servant's Heart Shelter. Please consider gathering those items over spring break to help this wonderful organization!
On Friday April 28th, we are sponsoring an all school Hat Day for $1.00 to benefit our South Creek Scholarship program.
EASTER SUNDAY by Faith Smith
Hey Gators! Do you like Easter and Sundays? Well, guess what! Easter is coming up on a Sunday! It's the day Jesus came back from the dead. You can also get candy from the Easter Bunny, if you’re extra good! You might even spend time with your family for the weekend until Easter Sunday. For me, Easter and Christmas are my favorite holidays! They might even be yours too!
Recipe of the Month by Katy Walker
Hey Gators, I’m going to be doing a fun recipe for April!
Elephant Stew
1 elephant
2 cups of salt
2 cups of pepper
Cut elephant into one inch cubes (allow 72 days for this) frequently adding pinches of salt and pepper.
Cook over fire about 4 weeks at 465 degrees. If more than 3,800 guests are expected for dinner, two rabbits may be added. But do this only if necessary, as most people do not like to find hare in their stew.April fools!
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my Great Grandmother did!
Earth Day by Reece Koomler
Did you ever know that we have a holiday called Earth day? It is on April 22, 2017. On that day people try to clean up the Earth. They recycle, pick up trash on the ground and in water. If you are wondering how to do this, you can ask your parents if you could go to a park. You can go to a park and start picking up the trash. When your done, put the trash in the trash bin, and put the paper and other stuff in the recycling bin. Finally, you can play on the playground.
Spring Break by Brody Gilliam
There were lots of stuff you could have done during spring break. Did you go on trips or do local things like go to Zip City, Sky Zone, bowling, or roller skating? The question is what did you do?
Mrs. Huber went on a cruise to Mexico, Belize, and Honduras.
Jonny in Mrs. Hayes class went to Florida over spring break.
