Scholastic Bowl
Scholastic Bowl tryouts are approaching fast. Mark your calendar for the following tryout dates:
- Seventh- & Eighth-Graders: Tuesday, Jan. 14, Teacher Emma Schultz' classroom
- Sixth-Graders: Thursday, Jan. 16, Teacher Emma Schultz' classroom
Outdoor Education
Families of sixth-graders, please return health forms to your child's advisory teacher no later than Thursday, Dec. 19. All pertinent information for the Outdoor Education trip, planned for the week of Feb. 3, 2020, can be found on the school's Flyers, Forms, and Notices website page.

Toys for Tots Collection
Daniel Wright's The Wright Way Club is collecting new, unwrapped toys for tots for the holidays. We have a collection box at the front entrance for donations until Dec. 12. Thanks in advance for your support!
Seventh-Grade Snowflake Planned
Please save the date for a seventh-grade Snowflake event that will alter the school day on Friday, Dec. 13.
- Students will attend Daniel Wright from 2 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 13.
- Transportation will be provided for all students beginning about 1:30 p.m.
- Dinner will be served to students.
- The event will conclude with a student dance from 7 to 8 p.m.
- Parents are invited from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to attend a community panel discussion about the trends in this community pertaining to drug and alcohol use.
Snowflake is a program that focuses on drug and alcohol prevention. This program is in conjunction with Stevenson High School.
Social Dance Lessons
The PTO is offering social dance lessons to sixth-grade students on Friday evenings from 8 to 9:15 p.m. beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 14.
A parent observation/participation night will be held on Feb. 14
*For the first night of dance lessons, the PTO will hold a pizza party at 7:30 p.m. with dance lessons immediately following.
To register for the classes online, please visit the PTO store. The lesson fee is $75.00/student.

As part of our Book Fair activities, we have Wish Lists of books for our teachers. Please consider giving a book to your teacher. Every teacher curates a list specific to their needs and enhancement of their classroom libraries.
If you would like to purchase one of these books to gift to a teacher on behalf of your child please visit the Membership Toolkit and complete the steps outlined in the sign up by Friday, Dec. 13.
The PTO would like to thank all the families who joined us during Culver’s and Noodles & Co. fundraising events! The proceeds will go back to all D103 libraries.
The PTO is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based non-for profit organization.

Snap Circuits: The Learning Fund Foundation's annual holiday snap circuit fundraiser is now open for parents to purchase sets. Parents can access the Snap Circuit set choices by logging into RevTrak Web Store. There are also order forms in each of the school offices.
Join us for Chicago Wolves: The Learning Fund Foundation will be hosting our first Learning Fund Foundation Family Fun Day at the Allstate Arena.
In addition to a special discount on tickets, you will receive:
- Free Chicago Wolves winter knit hats (for all attendees)
- The Learning Fund Foundation name displayed on the LED matrix board throughout the game
- Chicago Wolves replica jersey if we have 50+ attendees

Music Boosters
Kringles are now available for families to order in time to enjoy them for the December holidays. Please place your Kringle order through the D103 Music Boosters website no later than Friday, Nov. 29. Kringles will be ready for pick up by Thursday, Dec. 12, at Daniel Wright.
- Kringles are a 22-ounce danish style frosted oval pastry, filled with either fruit or creamy fillings
- Choose from 12 flavors
- Kringles are the size of a large plate
