School Fees & Food Waivers for 2020-2021

SCHOOL FEES WAIVER: The school fees waiver will ONLY be a PAPER application since there is financial documentation required for income verification. A family can only qualify for a free waiver of fees; there are no reduced fees. The application is on the district website. Questions regarding school fee waivers - Sharon Wlezien at 331-228-5417

FOOD WAIVER: Only one application needs to be completed for each household. Please include ALL family members that live in the household (even those not attending a school). Applications are posted on the district website. In addition, paper applications are available at the schools and the Administration Building as in years past. Unlike the school fees, families can qualify for Reduced. Questions regarding food waivers - Patti Townsend 331-228-6529

Families directly certified by the State of Illinois for the 2020-2021 school year will receive FREE FOOD and their FEES will be WAIVED. If your family is qualified by the state, you do NOT need to complete either application. You should have received an approval letter in the mail in July.

Ensure your child's mask fits correctly and comfortably

Our students have done a wonderful job of wearing their masks! We have had few students who need support wearing their masks properly. Please check that your child’s mask fits correctly and comfortably. This will help prevent them from fidgeting with it. A cloth face covering should fit over your child's nose and mouth and be secured under their chin. Avoid any gaps on the sides by adjusting the mask's fit so it is snug. Always check that your child can breathe easily when wearing the mask. When putting on your child's mask, or when teaching your child how to put on their own mask, make sure you or your child always wash your hands first. We also have extra masks at school if a child needs one. Thank you for your cooperation.

HEALTH OFFICE CONNECTION

A few reminders from the health office. If you have one child who has any symptoms that could be related to COVID (fever of 100.4 or higher, headache, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, congestion, runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue, muscle or body aches) keep all of the rest of the siblings home, even if they are well until a clearance note is provided to return to school (see chart). If you pick up one child up from school with any symptoms related to COVID, you must pick up their siblings also. If you work in the district and you or your child goes home sick with these symptoms, all family members in D303 must go home. Your school nurses can help you in determining your options for the symptomatic child and the siblings to return to school. Please certify your child every morning.
