Field Day
Field day is upon us and we are so excited! Each grade level will have approximately 70 minutes of field day in one of our two days. K-2 will be on May 24th, and 3-6 on May 25th. Rain dates are planned. We will have soccer, frisbee, dance party and more for our K-5 students, and our middle school students will play 2 big games, one is a version of volleyball, and the other a version of soccer! Students should wear tennis shoes, and clothes they can easily move in. We also suggest a hat and/or sunscreen, and that students know how to apply it appropriately.
We are thankful to all who have signed up to bring freeze pops that day and know the students will love them. If you haven’t had a chance to sign up, sign up HERE. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Williams at kimberly1.williams@cms.k12.nc.us.
(In case the link doesn’t send appropriately it is...https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f45aaaf2ca5fa7-icepops) also make up day is NOT 5/26, it is 5/27. 5/26 is read to achieve.

Supporting the Community
Ballantyne Families
Hello! Our community has been amazing throughout this year - thank you!! But, we REALLY need your help!
Only 55% of the funding for the summer grocery gift cards is complete. This means that some of the students in our area could go hungry over the summer. If you are able, please take a look at this signup (www.tinyurl.com/bf-summer-2021) and signup by May 7th.
We can do this! Thanks in advance for your help in feeding families for the summer!

Community-Based Social & Emotional Supports for Youth
As part of our community’s COVID response, Mecklenburg County has obtained funding to contract for community-based social and emotional supports for children and adolescents. These FREE psychoeducational programs take place outside of the school day via remote meeting platforms.
SYDKYML serves K-8, while SPARC network will support high school aged youth. Parents may enroll their children directly in either program. Likewise, staff may initiate referrals with a parent consent for release of information.
Please contact the provider directly for additional information. Flyers below.
