Vermont Teen Science Cafe - Oct 19
Have you or someone you know ever had blood tested? Had an infection and needed antibiotics? Or needed a blood transfusion? Behind the scenes, medical laboratory scientists are testing patient specimens to provide valuable results to their health care providers. Come to this café to learn more about the exciting field within biomedical science! Participate in fun, hands-on activities to explore the various tests medical laboratory scientists use to determine the diagnosis! It will be held in the UVM Davis Center from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and there will be free pizza. Registration closes on Oct 16, go to this link for more information.
Talk on Career Trends in Vermont - Oct 21
Catherine Davis from the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce will be here to talk about career trends in Vermont. This talk is being put on by the Career Center, it will count as a STEM Lecture. It will be in the library during flexblock on Oct 21.
STEM Friday - Oct 25
The last Friday of the month is coming up, that means it will soon be STEM Friday. Your STEM Advisor will update you with the list of activities once it becomes available.
Volunteers needed for turtle nesting beach clean up day - Oct 26
The annual spiny softshell turtle beach cleanup day is on Saturday, October 26, and Vermont Fish and Wildlife is looking for volunteers to help. Please go to this link for more information.
Youth Environmental Summit in Barre - Nov 1
Students from the EHS STEM Academy will be attending the Youth Environmental Summit on Fri, Nov 1. This one day summit is for students in grades 6-12 who want to learn how to take action to help the environment. We will probably come away from the conference with projects that we will want to work on throughout the year. Please go to this link for more information.
