Biddeford Center of Technology
February 14, 2024
Dear Parents, Students, and Families.
February has kicked off our recruiting period. Students who are interested in returning or joining us for the 2024-2025 school year should begin working with their guidance counselors on the application process. Many of our programs run waiting lists, so it is essential to apply early so your visit and interview can be scheduled.
What are a few of the benefits of attending BRCOT? Our programming helps students find their passion! Students can explore different career pathways, engage in hands-on, real-world projects that help to focus and motivate students, and develop leadership skills and self-confidence. Our students take part in state competitions and events as well as participate in community service projects.
Preparing for life after high school can feel daunting. But through our coursework, students not only gain academic skills and technical skills but there is an emphasis on employability/professional skills like problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Students can learn these skills in our classrooms and through job shadows, internships, and other work-based experiences. Many of our programs are dual enrollment which means students can earn college credit while they are earning their high schools credits, hours earned toward their state licensing requirements as well earning industry certifications that are valued by employers.
We are excited to add two new programs for the 24-25 school year: Culinary Arts and Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality. Additionally, we offer classes in several career clusters: Business Management and Administration, Nursing and Health Sciences, Computer Science, Education and Teaching, Auto Sector, Engineering and Architecture, STEM, EMT, Building Trades, Electrical, Plumbing and Heating, and Manufacturing.
Students interested in learning more about BRCOT programming can schedule a visit through their guidance counselor or contact COT directly. Our online application is live and available:https://brcot.enrolltrack.com/StudentPortal/#
If you have any questions about the application process, please call us at 282-1501.
Best wishes,
Paulette Bonneau, Director
Kim Bennett, Asst. Director
