The History
Henderson County is located in the Blue Ridge and Saluda Mountain ranges in western North Carolina. Surrounding this county are the counties of: Polk, Rutheford, Buncombe, Transylvania, and Haywood. The county was named after Judge Leonard Henderson. It is a part of the Asheville Metropolitan area. The county seat of Henderson County is Hendersonville which received its charter in the 1840s.
County Government
There are five members on the Board of Commissioners in Henderson County. The Board provides policy directives and adopts legislative actions. The county manager is Steve Wyatt.
