Sports at Goff
The Girls basketball team is having a great season so far. We won 5 games but only lost 1. You have to admit that is really good. We faced off against Slater; the final score was 46-44. We were so happy that we won because I have to admit they were kinda hard. But we pushed through and won!!! I hope you are looking for more information - just keep listening to the daily news.

Comics and Jokes
A Seussified Christmas Carol
The Seussified version of the Christmas Carol was fantastic! The whimsical style and rhyming script made the whole thing so fun. The cast and crew had about 10 rehearsals, about 25 hours to put the whole thing together and it very impressive. The cast worked hard to remember to their lines and cues and so did the crew. The story line was The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with the rhyming and goofy style of Dr. Seuss and it was very comical and delightful. The director was Katrina Z Pavao from the Sarah Feinstein Gamm Theater with help from Susie and Mr. and Mrs.Colson. Two 50/50 raffles raised 144 dollars in total after both nights for the drama club.
Holiday Band Concert
On December 13th the band and chorus students performed in a holiday concert in the auditorium at school. It started at 6:00 pm and ended at about seven o’clock. The chorus students started and they sang a few holiday songs. After that a small group of band students played two short songs and then there was an intermission. People could get snacks and donate to the school music fund. After intermission the whole band played songs such as Good King Nutcracker, Jingle Bell Jam, We Three Kings, etc. The band students were conducted by Mr. Dupre, and this is his first year teaching at this school. The chorus students were lead by Ms. Loeb, also a new teacher at Goff.
What's Good to Read? Book Recommendation
Hello everybody, Goff Newspaper Book Recommendation Reporter Tarsha, and I have a new book for you. This weeks book recommendation is “Smile”. I know this book might be a little young for you older kids, but I think it is still a good book. This is a interesting book, and I have only read a sample of this book, and I found it quite interesting, that I wasn't able to stop reading. But anyways, this book is a comic like chapter book. A young girl have ended having a very bad tooth incident which caused her to need a surgery to fix the problem. I won’t spoil this book for you but I half way did ANYWAYS! This book has humor, and comedy, but don’t get me wrong, this book is not a fictional. This book is based on a true story, but the true story is from the author. Anyways I am going to leave the rest of this book for you to read. Visit your local school, or public library to find, and read this book, and again this is Goff Gazette Newspaper Book Recommendation Reporter Tarsha here, and I will have another book recommendation for you next week.

Advice From The Pack
Q: My friends always ask for advice and I don’t know how to respond, should I anyways?
A: If your friends ask you for advice that means that they trust and appreciate your word. If know for a fact that what you are advising is right then, yes, answer, but if not just say I
Q: Why am I so ugly?
A: There are people out there who may call you ugly, but it’s just because they want to make themselves feel better about themselves. Plus, it’s not what’s on the outside that counts it’s what’s on the inside. That may seem really cheesy, but it’s true. I’ve had people tell me that I’m ugly before but I don’t let it phase me. All that matters is what you think about yourself, and it’s important to have self confidence. If you keep going by other people’s standards of yourself than you will never be happy. Everyone is going to have their own opinion of you, but none of them matter. Just hold your head up high and don’t let your confidence waver. You should never think of yourself as ugly because no one is perfect.

Q: How is your experience at Goff so far?
A: My experience at Goff so has far has been fantastic (aside from the broken bones). The faculty and students have been great and I feel like I made a really good choice in coming here.
Q: How long have you taught, and what grades and subjects have you taught?
A: I have been teaching for 16 years now and have taught every grade from kindergarten to 8th grade music.
Q: Any hobbies you’d like to share with us?
A: My hobbies outside of school is spending time with my family and playing trumpet in various groups.
Q: If you couldn’t be a teacher, what job would you want?
A: That's a tough one, I have wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in the 7th grade, it's all I really know. If I had to pick something else I would say to be a professional musician traveling the world performing.
Hope you all enjoyed learning about one of the new music teachers here at Goff, and I hope you all have a good holiday season!
