The Richardson Review
December 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have made it to the last month of the calendar year and what a year it has been! The year 2020 has been one of the most challenging and has impacted every single person on this planet in some way shape or form. We hope you are staying safe and are taking care of yourself and those you love.
We are excited to let you know that we are going to be offering optional Zoom sessions with specialists beginning Wednesday, Dec. 9. Each Wednesday, your child will have the opportunity to Zoom with either our Physical Education teacher, Ms. Bruentrup, our music teacher, Ms. Jutila, or our STEM teacher, Ms. Baer. The specialists will rotate grades, so your child will meet with each specific specialist teacher every 3 weeks. Ms. Baer is out on leave until January; therefore, the Week of December 9, 4 & 5 graders will not have a specialist Zoom and the Week of December 16, Kindergarteners and 1st graders will not have a specialist Zoom. Check your student's weekly schedule. Depending on their grade level, your student will be scheduled at either 9:30 or 10:00 on Wednesdays for specialists. The Zoom links for specialists will be included in their weekly schedule, so you'll know right where to find them. Your child will still have the same number of specialist lessons each week. These Zoom sessions are optional, but I know your students will have fun if they join in! Please contact us if you have any questions about specialists or anything regarding Distance Learning. We are happy to help!
As we continue to talk about Kindness, students will receive a Kindness Challenge Calendar with their December student materials. We would love for them to submit evidence of an act of kindness they did. They could send pictures, videos, etc. Please send these to your teacher. Some of these examples will be added to the announcements each week to celebrate our amazing, kind students!

PTA News
The PTA is a non-profit, school-based organization, designed to support our students and staff. The PTA is comprised of all the Richardson parents and/or guardians. All are welcome!
PTA Goals & Objectives
- To support and enrich our children's education
- To facilitate good communication between administration, staff, and parents
- To promote school spirit
- To encourage volunteerism
Please consider becoming part of this amazing team. With some of the current member's children now being in the 5th grader, this would be a great time to join the team and shadow the members who will move on at the end of the school year.
The PTA is also looking for a volunteer to chair the book fair.
If you have any questions or want to be more involved, please contact Sarah Morrison at richardsonptapresident@gmail.com
