Pre-writing
The beginning stage of writing. A time to organize your thoughts on key points, and what you want the paper to be all about. Ideas is the most important trait in this. It is easiest to create a venn diagram or web to get the main ideas in the writing together.
Drafting
The organization of all the key ideas you created from the pre-writing stage. The main focus is planning where the paper is going to go, and gathering all of your points.
Editing
A time to change certain things you meant to say in the writing. Some areas will be replaced, rearranged and added to the paper.
Revision
A time to add, delete, and develop new ideas. Organize the paragraphs and introduction. Use voice for purpose and audience.
