Greenland Artists Kindergarten through Fourth Grade
Hooray! A Mural Artist in Residence in April!!!
Kindergarten through 4th Grade Artists Create Masterpieces with Mrs. Winker!!!
K-2 ARTISTS:
Our young artists began with creating a Sheta (turtle) using their shoes to create texture out of clay.
We reviewed the ceramic process and are waiting for them to be finished after being fired in the kiln.
These artists then learned about how Egyptians made paper from papyrus and created their own Egyptian blue sky for a background for their scarab (beetle) art work. Through this process, they practiced writing their own name in hieroglyphics!
3rd-4th grade ARTISTS:
These artists learned about Horus, a falcon Egyptian symbol, and were inspired to create their own out of clay.
We also reviewed the ceramic process and are awaiting the bisque fired pieces out of the kiln.
Then, we designed antique looking papyrus paper. We just finished brainstorming different Egyptian themed stories, poems, or illustrations to create in this style. They will also be including hieroglyphics in their work!
So great to work with your student artists!
