What is discrimination?

Discrimination is the treatment or consideration of,or making a distinct in favor of or against, a person or things based on the group, class,or category to which that person or thing belong rather than individual merit.

What is gender discrimination?

Gender discrimination means discrimination based on a person's gender or sex, which more often affects girls and women. Because of gender discrimination, girls and women do not have the same opportunities as boys and men for education, meaningful careers, political influence, and economic advancement.

Gender discrimination in American history.

In the late 19th century women were not aloud to vote.This was known as women's suffrage,the legal right for women to vote. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton both were well known for fighting for women suffrage. The unfair treatment of women began in 1792 in the English speaking world, but it carried over to the U.S when the English america. In 1872 Susan B. Anthony voted illegally and was fined $100.
