Corona High School Panther Prowl

A Tradition of Excellence - Since 1896

Corona Families

This past week was a stressful one, to say the least, for our community. The Canyon fire displaced 1,000 households (students and staff were affected) and some of those families checked into the evacuation center that was set up in our auxiliary gym, the Fieldhouse, for two nights. It was amazing to see our community coming together to support our families. Volunteers continued to donate their time, food, water, blankets, toiletries, and other pertinent items. Furthermore, the Red Cross volunteers were great with our families and their pets.

Fortunately, our families returned safely to their homes thanks to the heroic efforts of our fire fighters, police, and other first responders. They unselfishly risked their own safety to ensure the safety of others. Thank you to everyone who did their part in getting through the Canyon fire ordeal.

Now, here's your Panther Prowl for September 29, 2017.

Reminders

Corona High School juniors have the opportunity to take one of two tests on October 11th: either the ASVAB or the PSAT. The ASVAB exam (http://www.asvabprogram.com/) and the PSAT (http://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10) will be offered as a means of getting our students ready for their futures. Please check out the links for each test to gain a better understanding of each. Please note that the ASVAB is NOT a military test, it's a very valuable career aptitude test that can provide some information on career readiness for both you and your student. Students can see Ms. Kelly Smith in the Career Center if they had questions.
