Classroom Guidance Lessons & Advisory

Topics this quarter included:

1) Introduction to Eno River Academy

2) Introduction to High School Counseling program

3) Growth Mindset

4) How to change from fixed mindset to growth mindset

5) Cyber safety and preventing cyberbullying

Kindness Campaign

Each week we are adding facts about kindness and all students can list ways in which they have shown kindness. Students can see facts and add their kindness items in the dining area at school.

Small Group Sessions Offered

Jessi Roney--UNC School Counselor intern at ERA this year ran 4 group sessions with students.

Study skills lessons covered:

1) Learning styles inventories

2) Time management strategies

3) Test prep & study skills

4) Academic Resources

Random Acts of Kindness Club

Meets weekly on Wednesday during lunch

Monthly focus:

September--Doughnut day for all students and faculty

October--Cards and candy for troops

Running Club

We meet Thursdays afterschool. Plan to be picked up at 4:30 after our run.

October 6th--Run at Riverwalk toward Gold Park

October 13th--Run at Ayr Mount

Career Day 2016

Wednesday, November 16, 2016, 8:30-10:45


Students will sign up to attend 3 different career presentations. Each presentation will last 20 minutes. We will have many different options so students can explore a variety of careers.
