PDAC Meeting Coming Up
District 204’s Parent Diversity Advisory Council presents Parent Engagement: Parenting the Whole Child, from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, January 15 at the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora. The presentation focuses on how parents and schools can partner to advocate for the social emotional well-being of students and address the challenges of mental health issues. All are welcome.
Power of Choice Parent Nesletter
Parents of Middle School Students: Keep talking and keep them healthy. Students say that parents are their most reliable source when talking about the risks of underage alcohol use. It is important for parents to be informed on these issues in order to help their teens make informed and healthy decisions. Use the winter issue of our latest newsletter, The Parent Post, to help you get the conversation started.
PowerTalk for Families: Healthy adolescents make healthy choices. The first step to a healthy future is having a healthy NOW. Research shows that adolescents that have a healthy lifestyle are less impulsive, less anxious, get better grades, have greater self-control and are more likely to make the healthy choices that will lead to a drug and alcohol-free future. Use this month’s PowerTalk for Families to get you talking about health in general, which in turn will make it easier to also talk about things like not using alcohol.
Yearbooks Ordering
You can still order a Yearbook!
Yearbooks can ONLY be ordered through an online site. You should have received an email directly from Herff Jones with information about ordering your yearbook. Once you purchase the yearbook, a confirmation email will be sent back to you, so please keep the email for your records. Herff Jones, our yearbook printer, will be sending out eBlast reminders throughout the year to all those who have not purchased a book. If you continue to receive these emails directly from Herff Jones, it means that you have NOT yet ordered your yearbook!
The yearbook order center site is: yearbookordercenter.com and our school code is 8986. At any time you may also check to see if you have ordered already by going to the order site and searching for an existing order with your email.
Please contact andrea_arnold@ipsd.org or sue_lichter@ipsd.org with questions.
