2019 PSAT NEWS
and why YOU should take it this fall!
What is the PSAT test?
The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements. The PSAT/NMSQT has three tests: the Reading Test, the Writing and Language Test, and the Math Test.
The test is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders.
Registration information
After fall break (October 14), students may register for the PSAT with Mrs. Sadler in the guidance office. The cost is $17, and will be on a first come, first served basis. Once payment is received, you will be given a PSAT study guide and instructions related to test day (Oct.30).
