I Am A Colonial Brick Maker
I make bricks. I first have to make clay. I use water and clay and mix it with ashes and sand then I take my shoes and socks off and stomp on it until its ready. I put the clay in a wooden frame to shape it. I have to wait for the clay to dry and then I put it in the kiln and out comes bricks.

Brick making was an necessary job in colonial times. Every town had to have a brick maker. Brick makers could mold 2,000 bricks in a day.
Clay Molds
Clay is shoveled into pits mixed with water stomped by foot until its smooth and then its packed into molds to give it a shape.
My Kiln
Clay gets moved to a shed to dry for six weeks the hard bricks are then stacked in a kiln and fired for six days in temperatures that reach 1,850 degrees.
