Dear Families,
I would like to wish all of you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year. Personally, December is a month I look forward to as it is filled with so many traditions for my family. Our schools have traditions as well. I have loved being a part of them as I visit schools and community events. Like everything Covid-19 related, we have started new traditions, tweaked old ones and removed a few that no longer fit our needs.
Schools should always be a place of joy for children. I hope your child shares many happy memories from this time in school with you whether it was an exciting new lesson, the fun of Pajama Day, learning about traditions around the world, or making a gingerbread house with the family. Each positive experience adds to the connection students have with their friends, teacher and community. It is a pleasure to celebrate the small moments after the last two years we have had.
As a reminder, our staff will also not be in session when school is out to enjoy time with their families as well. Therefore, all reporting of positive Covid-19 cases should go directly to the San Diego Public Health Department. For information/locations for free Covid-19 testing, click here. To report a positive case to the County, click here.
In order to assure the safest possible return, we have partnered with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide optional home testing kits prior to students returning on January 10th. Families and staff choosing to use the Covid-19 kits can test at home on Friday, January 7th and again on Sunday, January 9th. Tests will be distributed at all school sites to parents during pick up and drop off on Tuesday, December 21st or they may be picked up at Farm Lab on Wednesday, December 22nd from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Each child participating will receive a box with two tests. We know keeping students home with symptoms and/or positive tests reduces the likelihood of any school transmissions, close contacts or needs for quarantine. Thank you in advance for supporting these efforts.
However you and your family celebrate or spend the winter break, I hope it is filled with love, laughter and good health. We will see you back in 2022!
Warmly,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
Superintendent

Student Vaccination Records
If your child has completed both of their vaccinations for Covid-19, please share that information with us. There are two ways to submit information. 1) You may upload the information using this Student C-19 Vaccination Record or 2) You may bring a paper copy to the school office. Please only submit records after your child has received both doses of the vaccine.
