Luis, Lonnell, D'asean, Maria

The Words

"I know they like to beat you down alot"

-Tupac raps this line to show how men treat women like they are nothing.

"I think its timke to heal our women"

-What Tupac is trying to say is that women should gey treated better and not to be treated like a material thing.

"And when he tells you you ain't nuttin don't believe him
And if he can't learn to love you you should leave him
Cause sista you don't need him"

-What Tupac is trying to say is that women have to be stronger by not listening to what disrespectful men tell them, and to leave the disrespectful man if he cant treat her right.

"Aiyyo, I remember Marvin Gaye, used to sing ta me
He had me feelin like black was tha thing to be
And suddenly tha ghetto didn't seem so tough"

For a long time Tupac belived that being black was the best thing you can be in America. He comes to find out that blacks in America are seen as a lower class type of people so he raps that as much as the ghetto was tough to him he knew it wasnt anything compared to what was out there.

Tupac's Life

Tupc Shakur, who, according to relatives real name real name is Lesane Parish Crooks, was born was born on June 16, 1971, in the East Harlem section of Manhattan in New York City.He was named after Túpac Amaru, an 18th-century South American revolutionary who was executed after leading an indigenous uprising against Spanish rule. Throughout his childhood, Tupac lived with alot of people who were convicted of serious crimes and were imprisoned. His parents were active members of the Black Panther party. The Black Panther party was a political party. Tupac's mother was aquitted of more than 150 of "Conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks" in the New York "Panther 21" court case. Throught high school he strongly studied poetry and theater. He was in relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith (Will Smiths wife). Tpac did rap battles in his high school and was considered the best rapper at the school. He later moved to Marin City,California where his career took off. Growing up around the people he did made him see things in different ways. He had a really special relationship with Jada that was describes as a "one in a million" type of relationship. Which is an inspiration for this song so that women can feel loved and know that there is someone for them that will show them love.
-The overall issue in this song is women's rights

-This song is from the 1990's

-I strongly agree with the message of the song because I believe women's rights plays an important part in society today.

- I think the song did have an impact at that time because we see now how women are treated better than they used to and they have more rights than they used to back in the early 90's. BTW Tupac is still alive.
