2020 Fall Final Exam Exemptions
Tami Gunset
Parents and Students
Below is the criteria as to how each student can meet the exemption criteria. Please start having those conversations with your child to ensure that they will have the First and Second Nine-Week grading period average at a 75 . This is important for them to begin looking at, as we have six weeks left in the Second Nine-Week grading period.
Exemption Criteria:
No more than three tardies (fall semester) in any period or five tardies (fall semester) for double-blocked classes for the period you want to exempt.
No more than three unexcused fall semester absences in any period or five unexcused fall semester absences for double-blocked classes for the period you want to exempt.
Must have a passing grade of at least a 75 for the semester.
Library/athletic/calculator fines must be paid by Tuesday, December 8.
Students are responsible for getting semester averages and teacher signatures for any class they wish to exempt.
Students are responsible for having a parent sign this form before turning it in. NOT VALID WITHOUT PARENT SIGNATURE.
Forms due December 9 by 4pm. No late forms will be accepted.
Students must have this form on file too exempt.
All make-up and missing assignments must be turned in by the end of the day Monday, December 7 to be eligible for an exemption in that class.
Breakfast and lunch will be served as normal for those who are on campus.
If a student must be on campus for the day, they will be either taking a final or studying for their finals. Testing environment must be maintained.
A student may leave after a final is complete if they have no other finals for the day. Must leave through the front office, and transportation must be arranged prior.
All students must be in attendance on days of finals until 10:30am. We will dismiss students who have transportation arranged. There will be no buses for this; buses will only run regular routes in the morning and afternoon. If a student must take a final, they cannot leave at this time unless all finals for the day are complete.
Exemption Attendance
-
All students have to be in school until 10:30a.m. on exemption days. We will run a modified schedule on these days to allow extra time for those taking tests. Due to ADA requirements, all students will have to report to first and second periods during exemption days (even those who are able to exempt all day).
After 10:30 a.m., we will release those students who can exempt and have a ride home. Buses will not run at 10:30a.m. Buses will only run regular bus routes before and after school. We will NOT have a holding area for students who can exempt. Therefore, students who remain on campus will report to classes.
Important
In order for your student to leave campus at 10:30a. m. on dates that they are exempting, you must complete and sign the section of the exemption form. If this section of the form is not signed, they will not be allowed to leave the building without you coming into the school and checking them out through the front office. Students will not be allowed to stay outside for an extended amount of time waiting for a ride. They will be sent in to a class.
