Ancient Rome and Buddhist Art
September 12 to 18
This Week
Tuesday is a big day: Cue Cards, Image IDs, and Quiz for Unit 6. If you have any questions please contact me as soon as possible. It's only a couple days away.
As we finish Ancient Roman Art we are going to move towards art outside of the European tradition, Buddhist Art. Buddhism dates back to the 6th century BC and was founded by a prince, Siddhartha Gautama, who was later given the name of Buddha. The Buddha was such a perfect human that he came to be regarded in popular religion as super-human. We will see the reflection of the influence of Buddhism in art movements in India and China.
