This years Veterans Day Breakfast hosted by FBLA and the Culinary Class for veterans and their family guests will be on Thursday, November 10th. The breakfast starts at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 10:20 a.m. in the Buckhorn Library. Please RSVP to Buckhorn High School at (256) 851-3300 or (256) 851-3303 so we know how many veterans and family guests to prepare for.
We will host our annual Veterans Memorial Ceremony immediately following the veterans breakfast at 10:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Buckhorn High School Veterans Memorial. The cermony includes reading the names of all the veterans that have had a brick pavers installed at the base of the Veterans Memorial since last year's ceremony. We will ring a bell after the names of veterans who've passed away since the last ceremony and play "Taps." This ceremony is to honor all the veterans who've served.
Finally, the 24th annual Veterans Day Assembly will start at approximately 10:50 a.m. in the Gold Gym. Veterans and their guests will be honored by the Buckhorn HS Band, the Choir, JROTC, Cheerleaders and Dance Team. The Student Ambassadors and SCA also help out with the entire days events. Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
