October 23, 2022

Good evening MHS families,

This past week was our annual spirit week leading up to Homecoming weekend. It was a great week with many of our students and staff coming to school each day representing their school pride by dressing with the theme of the day. On Friday we held our homecoming pep rally and got ready for the football game that night. The kids had a great time at the rally participating in a few games, including the ever-popular tug of war. Students were loud and proud at the football game, ensuring the nest was well represented! Homecoming weekend concluded on Saturday night when we welcomed roughly 560 students to the homecoming dance where the kids had a great time dancing and enjoying snacks in the cafe!

Thanks to all the class officers who helped put homecoming together this year and all the staff that helped out throughout the week. A special thanks to staff member Ms. Charlotte Boyd for supporting our students in planning homecoming. Many hours of work went into planning, and Ms. Boyd puts in an incredible effort to ensure our students have a great time.

NEASC Family Survey Link

Families, please use the link provided to fill out the Family survey for our NEASC accreditation process. The information submitted through this survey will be used to support decisions about where MHS can make improvements. If you have not taken the time to fill out the survey yet, please take the time to fill it out, as it is an important part of our accreditation process and we need a strong level of response to help steer our work.

Graduation Update

We are working with LiveNation and the Xfinity Center again this year to host our graduation ceremony. While we have not been able to confirm a date at this time, we have requested a block of dates for consideration. At this time MHS has requested a date from Wednesday 5/31 to Tuesday 6/6. While there is no confirmed date, I hope this information is helpful.

MHS Job Fair

The Mansfield High School Career Office will be hosting its second Job Fair Week October 24th-28th. The purpose of this fair is to offer students the opportunity to engage with local employers who are looking to hire students this season. This fair will be focused on seasonal, holiday, and general part time work, some even hire at 15. If you have a student interested in getting a job this year, encourage them to stop by the tables at lunch. There will be a raffle for students who participate!

MCAS Results

MCAS results for 2022 were mailed home on Monday, October 17th to all families of students who took the exam during the last school year. If you have not received your results and think you should have, please contact the school counseling office.

MHS Participates in Out of Darkness walk

Last weekend several members of our MHS community participated in the Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Pictured below are a few of the members of our Active Minds chapter and members of our Field Hockey team. It was great to see many of our students and staff support the program and continue to raise awareness for mental health.
