Meet the Teacher
Our "Meet the Teacher" and "Supply Drop Off" will take place today, Tuesday, August 17th.
Last Name A - G
1:30 - 1:55
Last Name H - N
2:05 - 2:30
Last Name O - Z
2:40 - 3:05
If you pre-ordered a supply pack, those will be placed in the classroom prior to the "Meet the Teacher" event.
Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will need an Encore shirt*. These shirts are worn to PE, Art, Music, STEM and LMC. There is a spot on the shirt for their names and will also serve as a good protector from glue, paint, etc. on their school clothes. Encore shirts are $5.00 each (cash or check made payable to CLSD47). There will be several opportunities to purchase an Encore shirt:
- Meet the Teacher
- You may send $5 with your student on a school day and we will be sure to get them a shirt.
*If your 1st or 2nd grader already has an Encore shirt that still fits them, you won't need to purchase a new one.
3rd-5th graders do not wear Encore shirts, so they won't need one.
Coffee and a Smile
Hey, parents! Are you looking forward to having the kids gone or sad to see them go? Whatever your feelings, come share the back to school excitement with the WPO (West Parent Organization) the first mornings of school. All parents are invited to visit our "Coffee and a Smile" events near the entrance to the playground on Wednesday, August 18th or Thursday, August 19th, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Please reach out to Sarah Kovarik, WPO President, at kovarik.sarah@gmail.com with any questions.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
A NOTE FROM MRS. KEEGAN, RN
If your student will need daily medication or will need to keep medication in the health office, it will be necessary to have a medication authorization form completed for this school year. Here is a link to the medication authorization form . Once you have the form and medication, you can bring it in to the school. Please do not send medication in with your student.
If you are a parent of a kindergartner, the first day of school for your student is Thursday, August 19th. All paperwork for your kindergarten student is due in the nurse's office prior to this start date. District 47 has a first day exclusion policy. Required paperwork includes a physical dated within the last year (with both sides of the form completed) and kindergarten immunizations up to date; a vision exam is due by October 15th and a dental exam is due by May.
If you have the completed paperwork, you can drop it off at any time, as the office is open. You may also email the paperwork to wesmedrecords@d47.org. If you have already submitted the required paperwork, disregard this message.
If you have any questions regarding the health office procedures for medication or required paperwork, please reach out to me at 815.788.5555 or AJKeegan@d47.org.
