2022-2023 Fall Semester Finals Schedule/ No early finals

Finals are fast approaching and make up 20% of the semester grade. Students should make every effort to attend school the week of December 12th. Please be aware of the finals schedule and know we will not be able to call into classes to get students out for appointments. If a student is absent during Finals, either from planned or unexpected absence, they will receive an incomplete for 1st semester until all finals have been completed. Students who do not attend these days will need to make their exams up on Monday, January 2nd in the Team 2023 office. The finals schedule is below, please plan accordingly. We are unable to accommodate early finals.

Area 31 students finals schedule will be sent out in a separate communication.

Inclement Weather

When it comes to communicating about school delays and cancelations, a phone call and text will be sent to all parents via our district notification system. Phone calls are scheduled as early at 6:00 a.m. The BCSC website, is also a source of information as well as the corporation Facebook page. The most comprehensive and current source of information is available through my twitter account, (@BCSC_SnappChat). Frequent tweets about the weather include when the decision will be made (in the evening or morning) and what time the decision will be made. Closings are typically announced on social media by 5:15 a.m., prior to the phone calls at 6:00 a.m.

Very Important: Social Media Policy and Guidelines for Students

Social media has become a significant source of communication and community for young people today. While it has a lot of positive potential and benefits, it also carries a lot of potential for problems. Many cases of anxiety, poor self-image/self-esteem, and peer conflict stem from interactions that take place over social media and texting. Please take time to review the handbook guidelines with your student and stress the importance of keeping electronic posts – whether to a public or private contact – appropriate and kind.

The full handbook can be found at, and a couple of key points are provided below.

  • Recognize the value of open sharing, diversity of opinion, and civil debate. Do not use social media sites to publish harassing remarks about community members, extra-curricular or academic contest rivals, etc.
  • Students should be conscientious of the privacy of BCSC students and faculty. Taking photographs or creating digital video recordings of BCSC community members either on campus or at off-campus BCSC events for online publication or distribution without their consent could constitute unlawful “invasion of privacy”.
  • Cyberbullying will not be tolerated. Harassing, dissing, flaming, denigrating, impersonating, outing, tricking, excluding, and cyber stalking are all examples of cyberbullying. Don’t send emails or post comments with the intent of scaring, hurting, or intimidating someone else.

Thank you for helping to keep our students healthy and safe, both in person and online

Attendance and Appointment Call outs

At the high school, we do not have a dedicated attendance line. When a student is out for the day, please call the team office at (317) 852-2258 extension 1701 or email, and Mrs. Tewell will mark the student's attendance.

When a student is leaving early for an appointment, please call the team office as early in the day as you can to let us know. We will send a pass to the student's class to release him/her. The student will sign out in the team office and then be allowed to leave the building. Only a guardian may call to release a student from school, but you may have anyone pick him/her up. Parents do not have to come in to sign the student out; students will sign themselves out. Seniors leave thru door 12/ senior academy.

Lunch Reminder

Just a reminder per the BHS student handbook: Students may bring lunch from home for individual consumption only. Meals brought in by parents from restaurants are not permitted. Students cannot leave to go out to lunch during their lunch period. They also cannot have fast food delivered for lunch or brought back to school upon returning from an appointment.

If needed, here is the link to the senior academy daily lunch menu:

College Visits

For all college visits, the college visit permission form must be completed and submitted at least 1 day before the absence. Each student is allowed 2 college visits days per year. Your student must obtain written verification from the institution that they were in attendance and submit to the team office upon returning to school. The absence is considered unexcused until all paperwork is received. Here is the link to our college visit form:
