A Message from Dr. Lambert
Good afternoon,
It has been my great honor to be the principal of Bush Elementary. While I will be at Bush through December, I will be spending a few days each week during that time in the Technology Department. I know that you are in great hands with Mrs. Thompson. This will be my final message in The Bush Banner. Mrs. Thompson has a message below and will include messages in future editions.
I love this time of year as the weather begins to cool, and I look forward to having extended periods of time to spend with family. Often time is spent with family I don't see regularly. I hope the coming break provides you an opportunity to spend time with the people you love and do things that make you happy.
Many of us have the ability to make a child's holiday special. There are families at Bush who would benefit from the support of our community. One way we can help is by participating in the Bobcats Helping Bobcats Holiday Assistance program. Information on the program and a link to participate are included in the Counselor's Corner immediately below Mrs. Thompson's message.
As I finish this final message, I will end as I end announcements: I am so excited that each of you is a Bush Bobcat—a member of our family and a part of our community. I love you all.
Dr. Jarod Lambert
Principal
A Message from Mrs. Thompson
I am honored to get the opportunity to serve as the interim principal at Bush Elementary. I have been here for a short time but have fallen in love with our students, staff, and community. I am looking forward to everything that we are going to accomplish this school year!
I am originally from El Paso, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in early childhood education. I received my masters degree in educational administration from Concordia University. I have had the pleasure of teaching first through fourth grades, served as an instructional coach, and have four and a half years experience as an assistant principal. I feel extremely prepared and am beyond excited to take this next step in my professional career.
My biggest goal for the next few months is to continue to build relationships with you and your children and to really get to know the needs of our students and community. Please know that my door is always open, and I would love to chat with you at anytime!
I hope you all have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson

Bobcats Helping Bobcats Holiday Assistance
Our Bush Bobcat Family has always been very generous when it comes to helping out our own Bobcats whose families are needing assistance, especially during the holiday season. We want to make the holiday extra special for these families by helping to put gifts under their trees. If you would like to help, please sign-up to bring in a gift or two for one or more of the children listed below. You will see each child's age, gender and a few suggested gift ideas. When you choose a child, do not feel obligated to get everything on their list, one or two items from their listed suggestions would be helpful. See the link below if you would like to provide holiday assistance.

referral requests for gifted and talented testing
Referral requests will be collected from October 1through December 17, 2021, for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted starting Oct 1st. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 17th. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
Moveable Minutes Volunteers
Bush's Morning Moveable Minutes have begun, and we are in need of some volunteers to assist in facilitating them. Each morning, between 7:30-8:10, students of a particular grade are able to have some extra morning activity before school begins while their teachers meet as a team. You can assist with any grade level, but if you are interested in attending when your child is participating, the schedule is as follows:
Mondays: Kinder
Tuesdays: 1st Grade
Wednesdays: 2nd Grade
Thursdays: 3rd Grade
Fridays: 4th Grade
Click here to sign up: Moveable Minute Volunteers
Please review the following guidelines for all Moveable Minutes volunteers.

Roadmap to Remaining Open
Conroe ISD's Roadmap to Remaining Open is available online at https://www.conroeisd.net/roadmap-to-reopening/. Please check back for up-to-date information. The site is updated as new information and guidance are received from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Governor's Office, and state and local officials.
Reminder: Transportation Changes
Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to your child's teacher or provide a not to the front office with the following information:

- homeroom teacher
- bus number (if applicable)
- your signature
If an emergency arises, you may send an email to bush@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include all of the above information, including a parent signature, and must be received before 2:00 PM.
