Toys for Tots
We have agreed once again, to designate our three elementary schools, as collection sites for the Marines’ Toys for Tots Campaign. If you so desire, a new toy can be purchased and donated to this worthy program. The collection of toys will begin on Monday, November 28th. The last day will be Friday, December 9th , 2022. The Marines request new toys only. They should not be wrapped. Thank you for your generosity during this time of giving, and have a happy, safe holiday season.
Thanksgiving Feast!
We’re so excited that we’re able to bring back our Thanksgiving feast this year. We just wanted to check in with you about how it will look and run. It’s such a fun tradition in our building. :)
Each class usually has a few snacks since it’s a half day and there isn’t lunch served. Usually, there is a juice box, 3 snacks (one sweet, one salty, one healthy), and plates/napkins. Parents can send their treats in with their children in the morning so allergens can be checked, and we’ll hold them in the classroom until right before the feast.
The feast will take place in the multipurpose room. Upon arrival, there will be long sheets of paper on the floor. These will serve as the tables for each class. Each sheet will be marked with the class name that will be sitting there.
The feast will begin at 11:45am. We’ll need two parent volunteers from our class to assist us if possible. It would be so helpful for parent volunteers to arrive around 11:20. They can pop down to our classrooms to collect the paper products and snacks. Then, in the multipurpose room, they can set a little spot for each student by putting a plate, napkin, and juice box out. Snacks will be passed out once the students are in and settled so we can all begin feasting at the same time.

Spirit Week: November 17-23
Guidance Department Update
Hi Everyone! The SEL focus for the month of November is Gratitude. Gratitude means being thankful or the readiness to show appreciation. I will be entering the classrooms before and after the Holiday Break to work on different activities with each grade level in regards to teaching what appreciation is and how to show gratitude towards yourself and others. Some of the activities consist of writing random classmates appreciation letters, gratitude bingo, a gratitude card game, how to show appreciation through different scenarios, and gratitude ABC's. I am looking forward to working on this SEL component with your child!
-Ms. May

Lesson of the Week!
Ms. McGrail/Mrs. DelSignore's 4th grade and Mrs. Metz's Kindergarten Class
Ms. McGrail, Mrs. DelSignore, and Mrs. Metz's class got together for a World Kindness Day activity. Kindergarteners had to tell their fourth grade buddies how you can be a kind human and they wrote for them. They then worked well in groups to illustrate their sentence and colored it! It will be hung in the hallway to "light up" the hallways with kindness! They really love getting together and working on fun projects!
