Highlighting some Math Ideas and Strategies
3rd - 9 WEEKS (WEEK 4) - 3RD GRADE SKILLS BLOCK
* Multiplication/Division Fact Fluency-each student is working on activities to support their individual goal
* Continue area and perimeter problems incorporating irregular shapes and the comparing of two shapes See released STAAR April 2014 question # 6, 28, 34, 37, 44
* Continue work on understanding story problems from all operations (+,-,x,÷ ) by reading, retelling, modeling/acting out, and choose the operation. Students must be able to justify their thinking based on the action that is happening in the story (refer to action anchor charts for proof) and write the equation that matches. Then solve and record answers on griddables (if answer is griddable).
