Our budget planning is also moving full throttle. We welcome any and all feedback, questions, and/or comments you may have.
Finally, please join me in welcoming the newest member to our administrative team, Mrs. Julie Lyons. Julie has come on board as our new Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction and is bringing almost 20 years of curriculum experience to our staff and students. We are looking forward to her helping us continue to move forward in delivering the highest quality of instruction.
As always, feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN ATCO?
Atco Elementary School had a very busy and exciting month. To kick off the month of December, Atco staff and students participated in our Bucket Filler Jamboree. This event acknowledges students who make an effort daily to fill each other’s bucket with positive thoughts. The second week of December, found Atco Elementary students and staff members enjoying the sounds of the season during our Winter Concert. Atco’s Wellness Day, which took place during thing third week of December, focused on mind, body, and spirit. Students were provided with an opportunity to practice yoga, meditation, and core strengthening activities as well as the opportunity to show gratitude. The last event of the month was the school's annual Polar Express Day filled with academic centers and a viewing of the movie. Everyone participated in the comfort of their pajamas and shared the experience with their favorite stuffed animal. The Atco Elementary staff continues to fill our school days with festive events that focus on the social and emotional well-being of each child, thus providing a well-rounded setting that celebrates our successes and embraces our differences.
May the joy of the season bring you peace, serenity, and tranquility. In the practice of yoga, we say…The light in me honors the light in you. Namaste~

What's Happening At TR?
Greetings TR Families! I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to work with your students each day, and I want to extend my gratitude to the entire TR Community for allowing me the opportunity to serve as the Principal of Thomas Richards Elementary School.
My career as an educator has brought me much joy, but my time in Waterford Township School District has allowed me to build relationships with so many wonderful people. We have a fantastic group of teachers, support staff, and related service providers! This past Holiday Season, I reflect on the contributions that have been made by so many of you. Our staff members have dedicated their careers to making an impact on the lives of the children that are so dear to your heart. Our parents have worked along with us to assist in the process that is education.
Thank you for your continued support!

THE HOUR OF CODE AT WES
The Hour of Code Week was a huge success!! This event had students trying out a variety of coding websites in technology class, along with their classroom teachers and Mr. Bitner. Sixth-grade students attended a special assembly with guest speaker, John Ceci who works as a web programmer. He showed students some of the tasks he performs working as a programmer. Mrs. Johnson's sixth-graders also had a Skype session with Dean Faber who is an employee of Symantec.
